Mersey Summer Quiz League

The 2019 season begins with the Grand Prix on Monday, June 3rd at 8pm, Aigburth People’s Hall, Aigburth Vale, Liverpool L17 0DG. Subs are £25 per team, and once all the admin is out of the way, we'll enjoy the customary table quiz.  We look forward to seeing everyone who's taking part.  Head to head fixtures begin the following week, June 10th.

The 2018 Mersey Summer Quiz season came to an end on Monday August 20th.  Congratulations to Rainhill Victoria, who won the season unbeaten. Thanks once again to everyone for playing, and to Dag, Joy and Chris for the crucial parts they play in keeping the MSQ going.  We hope that everybody has enjoyed the summer's quizzing, and look forward to seeing you all again next year!

The quiz is ready to be downloaded from the Quizzes page.  If you need any reminders of the rules they are on the Rules page.  Results and table will be posted on the Results page as soon as possible after the match, so remember to submit them on the night of the match.

The Grand Prix to open the 2018 MSQ season will be held tonight at Aigburth People's Hall, Aigburth Vale, Liverpool L17 0DG, beginning at 8pm.  We look forward to welcoming all MSQ teams for the chance to quiz together once we've got the admin for the season out of the way!

12 teams have registered for the new season, so there will be 11 weeks of competition.

We are having a Grand Prix to end the season on Monday August 21st. This is a chance to get together and quiz for one last time before the serious business of the MQL season begins!

Aigburth People's Hall, 8pm start.

10 teams have signed up for the 2017 season, including for the first time a team from Wirral.

The season kicks off with a Grand Prix/Organisation meeting on 12th June at Aigburth People's Hall, with the league matches starting the following Monday.  All fixtures can be found in the Fixture Calendar and team and venue details on the Teams page.

It is too late now to register any new teams, but we will try to find teams for any individual players who would like to take part.  Please contact us using the "Join a Team" page.

Endemol are looking for teams of FIVE PEOPLE to take part in a BRAND NEW general knowledge quiz for ITV.

Would any of you be interested in playing in a couple of trial runs of a new ITV Quiz Show?

The quiz is being written and developed by some of the same team behind University Challenge, and their aim is that it's a robust academic challenge - but not as recondite as UC can be! It's pitched at families of Sporcle addicts and board game lovers.

They are looking for clever, confident teams of three family members - a parent, child and grandparent. Ideally, the child on the team will be aged 10/11/12.

They are beta-testing a couple of versions of the format in their MediaCity offices on Friday 4th August and Thursday 1st September, and are really keen to have real families come in and play.
